The Four Oxen and the Lion

Posted by kathavarta on November 30, 2008

A Lion used to prowl about a field in which Four Oxen used to dwell.

Many a time he tried to attack them; but whenever he came near they turned their tails to one another, so that whichever way he approached them he was met by the horns of one of them.

At last, however, they fell a-quarrelling among themselves, and each
went off to pasture alone in a separate corner of the field.

Then the Lion attacked them one by one and soon made an end of all four.

Moral:
United we stand, divided we fall.

The Fisherman and his nets

Posted by kathavarta on November 21, 2008

A Fisherman, engaged in his calling, made a very successful cast and captured a great haul of fish.

He managed by a skillful handling of his net to retain all the large fish and to draw them to the shore; but he could not prevent the smaller fish from falling back through the meshes of the net into the sea.

Moral:
Be careful for small things especially if you are working on big projects.
